Vintage Japanese Tea Service with Lithophane Cups
Item Details
A vintage porcelain tea service with lithopane cups. These pieces are decorated in neutral colors with a gilt crysanthemum pattern to the body and gilded handles, spout and finials. The bottoms of the cups feature a lithopane image of a Japanese woman which can be seen when held to a light source. The group includes a teapot, creamer, lidded sugar bowl, six teacups and six saucers. Items are marked to the underside with a red character mark.

- surface marks from prior use; light wear to gilding.
