A fresco painting on burlap of the Texas flag attributed to listed artist Jacques Lamy (French, 1946 – 2016). This painting depicts a geometric rendering of the aforementioned flag, featuring an angular, five-pointed star situated against a cobalt blue rectangle which juts up against beige and red bands. Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artistic training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher. His career allowed him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
