Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Mehriban Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Mehriban area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in rich cranberry, bright blue, marigold, lime, midnight blue, peach,and ivory. The cranberry colored field is densely patterned with curling branches and sprays of flower blossoms arranged in arched shapes. It is framed with a main border of Shah Abbasi palmettes and guard borders with floriated vine motifs. It has overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe to either end. Unlabeled.
