James W. Tufts Antique Quadruple Plated Silver and Marble Candle Stick Holder
Item Details
An antique quadruple plated silver and marble candle stick holder by Boston businessman and craftsman James W. Tufts (1835 – 1902). The work uses classical floral designs and sweeping arms to add visual interest to the item. Both the stem and the base of the item is made from marble. To the bottom of the work, the maker’s mark is inscribed with a production number ‘3526.’
Condition
- to fair; wear tot he marble base; wear and tarnish to the candle holders; work could benefit from a cleaning.
