A gouache painting on paper titled Early Evening Chores by listed artist Justin Tso (Navajo; b. 1948). Depicted is a Navajo couple carrying wood and water in to their home before it gets too dark or snows too much. Artist’s signature to lower right corner of painting. Piece is presented double matted under glass in a wooden frame with a wire hanger to the verso.

Justin Tso was born in Canyon de Chelly, Arizona and is known for his equestrian scenes and Navajo reservation landscapes. He is very proud of his heritage and takes great care to portray this in his paintings. He went to many different schools all over the southwest including Chinle, Arizona; Gallup, New Mexico; and Lawton, Oklahoma, and completed his education at I.T.C. in San Francisco, California, and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
