An oil painting on canvas of a rocky landscape in the Kentucky Palisades by listed American artist Bill Fletcher (b. 1958). Portrayed with loose brushstrokes, smudged earth tones, and suppressed detail, this work features a landscape of large desert rock formations populated with clusters of trees throughout the tiers. The painting is signed "Fletcher" to the lower right. It is presented in a decorative gilt wood frame with leaf motifs at the corners. A frame label is adhered to the frame verso.

Influenced by the land of his home and a passion for art, Fletcher is known for his masterful landscapes and rich still life compositions. The Kentucky native received his artistic training from a plethora of exceptional teachers as a young man acquiring the essential building blocks for drafting. Fletcher eventually went on to study toxicology, making time for his art whenever possible. In 1996 he began painting in oils, taking lessons from local workshops and other artists. His work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, and Keeneland Magazine.
