Bill Fletcher Oil Painting on Canvas Winterscape

Item Details

An oil painting on canvas of a winterscape by listed American artist Bill Fletcher (b. 1958). Portrayed with loose brushstrokes, smudged subdued hues, and hazy forms, this work features a snow-covered landscape with clusters of trees scattered throughout; some prominent auburn trees stand in the foreground and a still gray sky hovers above. The painting is signed ‘Fletcher’ to the lower right. It is presented in silver-tone gesso wood frame with elaborate foliate relief moulding.

Influenced by the land of his home and a passion for art, Fletcher is known for his masterful landscapes and rich still life compositions. The Kentucky native received his artistic training from a plethora of exceptional teachers as a young man, acquiring the essential building blocks for drafting. Fletcher eventually went on to study toxicology, making time for his art whenever possible. In 1996 he began painting in oils, taking lessons from local workshops and other artists. His work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, and Keeneland Magazine.
