An oil painting on canvas titled Palisades Highlands by Bill Fletcher (American, b. 1958). Depicted is a scene from the Kentucky River Palisades with billowing clouds throughout the blue sky and rolling hills of warm earth spanning the foreground. Signed to the lower left, ‘Fletcher.’ Presented in a reeded, Art Nouveau style gilt and gesso wood frame.

Influenced by the land of his home and a passion for art, Fletcher is known for his masterful landscapes and rich still life compositions. The Kentucky native received his artistic training from a plethora of exceptional teachers as a young man acquiring the essential building blocks for drafting. Fletcher eventually went on to study toxicology, making time for his art whenever possible. In 1996 he began painting in oils, taking lessons from local workshops and other artists. His work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, and Keeneland Magazine.
