Provenance: Property from an American Midwestern Museum.

An oil painting on canvas board titled Corn Dancer by listed American Artist Joan Matzdorf (21st century). This painting depicts a still-life with a clay pot, a photo of a dancer, and an ear of corn rendered in an impressionistic style. It is signed in paint to the lower right, and is presented with an informational label to the verso. This painting is presented without glass in a tiered wooden frame with an inner linen border.

Joan Matzdorf began her formal training at the Philbrook Museum of Art at the young age of five. Throughout her early years she continued to train with various artist and institutions including the Albright Institute and the University of Tulsa. Matzdorf is known for en plein air paintings. Her work can be found in private galleries throughout the United States and publications like Southwest Art magazine and Art of the West magazine.
