Antique Carved Chinese Armchair

Item Details

An antique carved Chinese armchair, circa early 20th century. This black stained carved armchair features a dragon carved back within a foliate border that extends downward to form the square splayed legs. Two dragon head carved arms rest on cloud motif supports on the shaped solid wood seat with a foliate carved border. The seat rises on a heavily carved cloud motif skirt with two winged dragons forming the cabriole legs on scroll feet. No apparent maker’s mark.

Condition

Back has been secured to the arms and seat with six wood screws; various scuffs, scratches and general wear to the finish.
