A vintage Joseph Harper & Son Co brass engine order telegraph or EOT. This telegraph has a round dial with engine orders etched to the brass face. It has a brass lever and a circular base with drilled holes for securing to the ship. These were used to send orders to the engine room for speed and direction. Marked to the face ‘Jos. Harper & Son Co. New York, N.Y.’.
