A circa 1885 panoramic carbon print of Giacomo Brogi’s (Italy, 1822 – 1881) photograph titled The Colosseum, Rome. The large panoramic carbon print illustrates in sepia tones the Roman Colosseum. Housed in a wood frame under glass with hanging hardware to the verso.
Giacomo Brogi was an Italian photographer with his first studio established in Florence in 1864. After traveling extensively in Egypt, Syria and Palestine, Brogi had photographic studios in both Naples and Rome as well.
Condition
- minor wear to the wood frame. Overall toning to the photograph. Small areas of foxing to the paper.
