1939 George Vander Sluis Ink Painting of a Nude Figure
Item Details
An ink painting on paper of a nude figure, signed and dated ‘39’ by listed American artist George Vander Sluis (1915-1984). This piece, which combines ink wash with fine, hatching lines, depicts the feminine figure from behind, their shoulders contorted so that their head and neck is hidden from view. The piece is signed toward its lower right and is double-matted under glass in a molded frame with a hanging wire to its verso.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; light wear to frame finish.
