Antique European Sewing Stand

Item Details

An antique European sewing stand. This walnut Empire style sewing stand has an octagonal lift top on a tapering octagonal cone on a ring turned base, the turned baluster column having three splayed legs carved at the knees and feet. The lift top concealing a now disheveled fitted interior for sewing equipment and the tapering octagonal cone used to store a work in progress. This table comes with a small stool like table with an attached box of unknown purpose. No key. No apparent maker’s mark.

Condition

- sewing stand top is loose from bottom; inside paper is tearing and yellowed from age and use; various scuffs rubs, abrasions, marks, scratches, nicks, discoloration and bumps overall.
