Robert Herrmann Oil Painting on Canvas "Orange Ventilator"

Item Details

An oil painting on canvas titled Orange Ventilator by Cincinnati artist Robert Herrmann (American, 1922-1996), executed in 1957. This architectural landscape features an industrial pipe structure surrounded by architectural forms, flat surfaces, and a yellow railed structure, portrayed with rich colors and simplified geometric shapes. The composition is signed, titled, and dated to the verso, with the title concealed by the frame. It is presented in a composite wood frame with a light brown finish. Included with the composition are two exhibition catalogs from Cincinnati Art Galleries, LLC.

Robert Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous. He is known for his precisionist style and his paintings of architectural landscapes.
