Vintage Royal Doulton "Captain Ahab" Toby Character Mug

A vintage ceramic character jug by Royal Doulton. This piece depicts Herman Melville’s character Captain Ahab from the novel Moby-Dick. The mug shows Ahab in a blue and black captain’s hat with gray hair and beard. The handle is in the shape of the novel’s namesake, the white whale Moby Dick. The back of the mug is incised, ‘Capt’ Ahab’ and the underside is marked with the Royal Doulton maker’s mark above, ‘Capt Ahab, D6500, Doulton & Co. Limited’.

- light wear to finish; some faint discoloration on underside.
