Engraved Silver Chest Plate
Item Details
An engraved silver chest plate. This plate features the inscription ‘1934-1971, 1,000,000th case shipped from Kilmarnock – Washington D.C., silver, Made in Scotland’ with a figurative cartouche to the bottom. Belted leather straps are woven through to the plate, which are meant to be strapped to a chest. The plate it presented mounted to red velvet and housed in a painted wooden frame under glass.
Condition
- tarnish to silver; composition and glass sit loosely in frame; advanced chipping, dents, and scratches to frame; leather strap ends hang loose outside of frame to the verso; dust; corners of canvas are coming apart.
