An antique flat-top steamer trunk, circa late 19th to early 20th century. The wooden, dark-finished trunk features a rectangular, hinged lid opening to a striped, paper-lined interior with a removable, two-compartment tray. The canvas-covered exterior is fitted with wooden slats as well as sheet metal overlays and corner bumpers. The front panel has a central lock flanked by two latches while the underside retains two partially-obscured manufacturer’s numbers.
