French Art Déco Marble Top Server

Item Details

A French Art Déco marble top server. This vintage server is veneered in rosewood, fruitwood, and burl, with beech secondary wood. On the top of the server is a red and orange variety of cipollino mandolato marble from Hautes-Pyrénées, France. Below the marble top is a rounded rosewood veneer surround, over two cabinet doors both fitted with locking chrome plates and knobs and veneered with two large sheets of fruitwood, the upper corners of the server veneered in burl and carved with floral motifs. The doors open to reveal two side by side drawers at the top over a shelved storage area. The piece rests on a rosewood veneered skirt and two rectangular block feet. No apparent maker’s mark.
