Hmong "Paj Ntaub" Textile Panels

A group of three “Paj Ntaub” or “flower cloth” textiles from the Hmong culture of people located in Southern China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, as well as a significant population in the United States. These handmade textiles features the ’elephant’s foot’ pattern of scrolling, spiral, and geometric forms radiating from the center point in reverse appliqué with embroidered detail. Two of the pieces are nearly identical in a palette of brown and two shades of blue with stitching in pink, green, yellow and red, and the third piece features a palette of gray and ice blue with stitching in red and purple. These panels are unframed and unsigned.

- light wear and discoloration; some loose threads and lightly frayed edges.
