A signed etching on paper of a forest scene by listed American artist and educator Herbert Fink (1921-2006), created in 1965. This work features a forest area densely filled with various foliage and trees. The work is signed and dated ‘Jan 1965’ by hand in graphite to the lower right; it is dedicated ‘for Brent’ to the lower left, referring to American sculptor and blacksmith Brent Kington (1934-2013). The work is presented under glass with off-white matting, and housed in a wood frame with a medium brown finish.

Known for his drawings and prints, Herbert Lewis Fink received his B.F.A. at the Rhode Island School of Design and his M.F.A. from Yale University. He continued his art training at the Art Students League in New York with Arshile Gorky, John Frazier, and Gabor Peterdi, among others. His work has been collected by numerous institutions including the Baltimore Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Art Institute of Chicago, to name a few.
