Vintage Bird's-Eye Maple Dresser with Seven Drawers

A vintage bird’s-eye maple dresser with seven drawers. The veneered case features a rectangular top with rounded ends and a bowed, front edge overhanging a central, cabinet door flanked on each side by two stacked, short drawers. Directly below is a stack of three machine-dovetailed, long drawers, the fronts of which are fitted with wooden knobs and inset with brass tone escutcheons. The dresser rises on short, cabriole legs in the front with carved, paw feet and the back of the case is marked ‘No 328 1/2’ and ‘40’.

Condition

- scattered veneer cracks with warping/bubbling, mostly to top and to lower left side panel; a couple of drawer fronts with small corner chips; lower-right, short drawer with glue repairs to front; cabinet door with a veneer repair and a small chip near lower hinge; bottom drawer sticks; other scratches and surface wear.
