Antique Late Victorian Cast Iron Bed Frame, Circa 1900

Item Details

An antique Late Victorian cast iron bed frame, circa 1900. The tubular, putty-colored frame features an oval, openwork headboard and foot board with wire spindles and foliate and floral mounts. The ends are joined by two side rails and there are no maker’s marks.

Condition

- scattered/small paint chips/losses; putty-colored paint is later as some of the chips reveal a layer of red underneath; underside of rails are painted green; other minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use.

Dimensions

- measured frame exterior at largest points; interior rails are 53.25" W x 77.25" D; consignor was able to use a full size mattress on this frame.
