An antique Mexican Retablo oil painting on tin of Our Lady of Sorrows, early 20th-century. The sorrowful Virgin Mary appears with a sword piercing her heart and Christ’s crown of thorns and nails in front of her as tears stream down her face. The painting is presented in a hand made cut and hammered tin frame with glass.
Condition
- paint loss and speckling present throughout; tin sheet is bent and damaged in the corners and along the edge, wavy; some rust damage to the frame throughout.
