An antique diminutive walnut and oak blanket chest, circa second half of the 19th century. The walnut case is fitted with oak panels. It features a rectangular lid with molded edges opening to a vacant interior. The sunken-panel exterior has a strip of applied molding along the lower edge and the chest rises on four short, turned legs.

Condition

- scattered scratches and nicks with slightly heavier finish wear to legs; top with some stains/marks; some shrinkage cracks to inset panels; interior missing till but retains lid; hinges have been reset and replaced; hasp probably replaced; retains interior locking mechanism but no key; other minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use.
