Vintage Bentwood and Caned Rocking Chair in the Style of Michael Thonet

A vintage bentwood and caned rocking chair in the style of Michael Thonet (German/Austrian, 1796 – 1871). The frame features an oval, caned back and a square seat with rounded corners flanked by curved, open arms. It rises on a scrolled base joined by stretchers and ending in rockers. The back is impressed with a ‘1’ and a ‘5’ in several spots, otherwise there are no maker’s marks.
