Watteau French Limoges Hand-Painted Porcelain Bud Vase

A French Limoges porcelain bud base. This vase features a hand-painted scene to the front depiction a courting couple and natural landscape, signed by the artist Watteau. The scene is framed by a gilt scrolled foliate border against a green background to the vase body. There is gilt trim around the lip and the underside is stamped, ‘SA Porcelaine Limoges, France’ to the underside in a shield shape with a castle to the center and crown atop.

Condition

- light surface wear including discoloration; adhesive residue on underside.
