A hand-knotted Anatolian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, sapphire, and cream. It begins with a sapphire-colored hexagonal stepped medallion with geometric sapphire pendants over a coral lozenge. The lozenge rests on a sapphire field that includes stylized hands on hips shapes in each corner. The hands on hips figures are repeated, along with spiky quatrefoil roundels, in the main border, which has an ivory ground. The rug finishes at either end with short, ivory wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
