Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan carpet runner. This rug features a medallion and vase design in a palette of raspberry, cerulean, midnight blue, emerald, and ivory. It begins with three floral medallions over a raspberry colored field, which is filled with sprays of flowers, with a vase and elaborate bouquet at top and bottom. The field is framed by four borders, including a herati main border grounded in midnight blue, featuring meandering leaves and florets; flanking the main border on either side are minor borders grounded in ivory and filled with meandering florals. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
