A Galileo thermometer. The thermometer has a sealed glass cylinder with a pointed top and rounded base filled with several clear glass floats filled with different colored liquids with silver temperature tags affixed to each one. As the temperature changes, the floats rise and fall in proportion to their individual weights and the density of the cylinder’s liquid.
