Property from an American Midwestern Museum
A collection of three oil paintings on board of western landscapes by listed American artist Joan Matzdorf (21st century), created circa 2005. This set features mountain landscapes of the Southwest titled Sunday Meeting Place, Sleeping Warrior, and Endless Trail. They are all signed in paint to the lower and upper left corners. These paintings are presented without glass in wooden and gesso frames with decorative moulding.
Joan Matzdorf began her formal training at the Philbrook Museum of Art at the young age of five. Throughout her early years she continued to train with various artist and institutions including the Albright Institute and the University of Tulsa. Matzdorf is known for en plein air paintings. Her work can be found in private galleries throughout the United States and publications like Southwest Art magazine and Art of the West magazine.
