A carved lacquer box from the Republic of China (1912-1949) . A rectangular red and black banded lacquer box with banded floral motif and black lacquer interior and base. ‘China’ is inscribed in red to the bottom.

Condition

- small chips missing and cracking to the interior edges of the box base and lid; scratches and minor dents to the edges of the lid and bottom; dust and debris.
