An oil painting on canvas titled Paris Scene by listed artist Lucien DeLarue (French, 1925 – 2011). The work depicts a view of the river Seine in Paris. Signed to the lower right corner. Housed in an intentionally distressed wood frame with a brass-tone name plate, and wood and fabric fillet. To the verso is a gallery label and ink inscription.
Lucien DeLarue was known for his moody and romantic Parisian scenes, often depicting the iconic Seine. DeLarue received his formal training from the Grande Chaumiere Studios under well-listed artist Yves Brayer (French, 1907 – 1990). The artist was awarded numerous medals from the French salons in the 1970s and was a member of the French Watercolor Society.
