An oil painting on canvas titled Thunder on the Tall Grass by Bob Thomason (Cherokee/American; b. 1944). The work depicts a group of Native Americans riding through a herd of buffalo with their arrows drawn and guns at the ready. Artist’s signature to the lower right corner of painting. Piece is presented in a wooden frame with a linen insert and gold-toned detailing.
Born in Oklahoma and a part of the Cherokee Nation, Bob Thomason is known for his paintings of Western culture and Native American scenes. He has sold hundreds of paintings in the U.S. and parts of Europe, and has also been commissioned to do paintings for his hometown in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
