An oil painting on board titled Indians on Horses Shooting by listed Blackfoot Native American artist Shep Chadmhorn (20th century). This painting features a cluster of American gunman being surrounded by Native American gunman on horses rendered with warm tones. It is signed in paint to the lower right. A metal plate displays the artist’s last name. It is titled to a label attached to the verso. This painting is presented without glass in a tiered wooden frame with a suede inner border.
Shep Chadhorn was born in Colorado and was formally trained at the Art Institute in New York. He is known for portraits and Southwestern Native American scenes and landscapes.
