An oil painting on canvas titled Santa Fe Market by listed artist Joan Matzdorf (American, 21st-Century). Depicted is a woman selling jewelry on a cloth draped over a stone wall in front of a church. Artist’s signature to lower right corner of painting. Piece is presented in a wooden frame with a wire hanger to the verso.

Painter Joan Matzdorf began her formal training at the Philbrook Museum of Art at the young age of five. Throughout her early years she continued to train with various artist and institutions including the Albright Institute and the University of Tulsa. Matzdorf is known for ‘Plein Aire,’ or open air painting. Her work can be found in private galleries throughout the United States and publications like Southwest Art magazine and Art of the West magazine.
