Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a ship scene signed by an artist with the name J. James. This painting depicts a multi-masted clipper ship sailing against dark, choppy water with drawn sails. The waves crash into the hull of the ship beneath a cloudy sky. To the lower right corner of the composition is a painted signature. The painting is presented in a silver tone and teal wooden frame featuring a linen liner with hanging wire and a typed tag to the verso.

- craquelure throughout painting; residue on painting at right of center; toning and foxing on verso of canvas; toning and foxing on canvas liner portion of frame.
