A hand-knotted Heriz Serapi wool area rug. This elaborate rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, ivory, cranberry, gold, rose, powder blue, and emerald. The cranberry colored field features a large ivory colored lozenge with an over-sized star pendant medallion. The lozenge and field are both infilled with geometrically shaped floral motifs, and also features powder blue spandrels. Framing the field is a main samovar patterned border with multiple guard borders in a running water, a chained arrow, and a floral meander pattern. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
