Antique Japanese Satsuma creamer and sugar jar from the Meiji (1868-1912) or Taishō (1912-1926) period. The porcelain sugar jar features a removable lid, two scroll handles, and a round squat body. It is decorated with a polychrome enamel bird and floral motif design with gilt accents. The porcelain creamer features a removable lid, one scroll handle, and a round squat body. It is decorated with a polychrome enamel bird and floral motif design with gilt accents that matches the sugar jar. Both items are marked ‘Kozan’ to the undersides.
Condition
- small ding near upper edge; minor paint loss scattered throughout; very light wear for age.
