4' x 5' Rare Hand-Knotted Persian Turkmen Poshti Rug
Item Details
A rare hand-knotted Persian Turkoman Poshti rug. The rug is constructed with a single panel; knotted and woven to produce different finishes on either side. The hand knotted pile displays a rectangular field with a repeating pattern of twenty-five white and ochre colored guls. The field is surrounded by a complex series of geometric borders. The panel opposite is handwoven flat with crimson weft over a cotton warp. The piece is finished with cotton warp fringe at ends.
