D & A Bombe Tall Case Clock

Item Details

A bombe style tall case clock. The case design is based on the model of Scandinavian floor clocks. The top of the cherry stain case features a carved scroll decoration. It curves around the face, narrows, and then swells to accommodate the action of the pendulum. The white face is marked ‘D & A’. The Arabic numerals and hands are black and there are two key arbors. The bezel is brass and the glass front panel lifts upward on hinges. There are applied decorations and bands of molding above the glass front door through which the pendulum may be viewed. The clock stands on slender splayed feet. Untested.
