Antique George III Oak Dressing Table, Circa 1800

An antique George III oak dressing table, circa 1800. The dovetailed case features a rectangular top with molded edges overhanging a shaped, front apron with three aligned drawers. The cockbeaded drawer fronts are fitted with brass, batwing pulls and the table rises on cabriole legs with scrolled returns and angular feet.

Condition
- scattered surface wear, including scratches, nicks, and shrinkage cracks; interior of case reinforced with later boards on the sides and a later glue block in the back; corners of case with some slight separations to dovetails, which have been reinforced with later screws; some former pest damage throughout (worming) with associated marks and losses; repairs to feet; other possible repairs/restorations. Top is a possible replacement.
