Antique Cast Iron Parlor Stove, Circa Late 19th to Early 20th Century
Item Details
An antique cast iron parlor stove, circa late 19th to early 20th century. The black-painted, cast iron stove features an architectural façade topped by a removable, cartouche-shaped finial cap concealing a warming platform. Directly below is a porcelain handle over a rounded, openwork viewing door before a coal-burning interior. There is an ash door with a porcelain handle at the bottom and the stove rises on a projecting, bow-front base on casters. There are no maker’s marks.

Condition
- some wear to paint with small chips/losses; unpainted surfaces with surface rust and pitting, mostly to back and interior of stove; porcelain handles with chips/cracks; lower handle partially wrapped in black tape; back with an old patch repair as well as a crack running from exhaust pipe opening to base; interior grill with one broken element; viewing door probably had mica panels at one time, which are now missing; missing ash pan; functionality not tested.
