WWII Destroyer Clock

Item Details

A clock made from the WWII pressure gauge casing taken from a decommissioned Naval destroyer. Small metal tag to one side of the gauge cover has scratched into it ‘Distroyer Tarbelle’ which could be a reference to the Wickes-class destroyer the USS Tarbell DD-142. No other provenance provided although the piece visually compares to similar of the time period. Black screw down housing with lift hinge glass door. The clock with visible brass gears sits nestled within the casing and the clock face visible through the glass. Untested and no key present. Design of clock makes assessment of the main clock works prohibitive without complete dismantle.
