A hand-knotted Persian style wool area rug. The rug has a black center field populated with floral medallions and foliate arabesques in shades of ocher, off white, carmine red, nutmeg, medium gray and aubergine. The rug has a complex compound major border in cream embellished with floral medallions and vines in medium gray, nutmeg, aubergine and ocher, with floral and foliate guard stripes in beige. The rug is banded in black and finished with off white cotton warp fringe to both ends.
