Early 20th-Century German Stoneware Steins
Item Details
A grouping of two half liter German stoneware beer steins. The taller appears in a forest green color with embossed cream colored medallions and a center plaque that reads, ‘willst du haben langes leben. sei dem trunke nicht ergeben.’ Impressed Germany mark to the underside. A Mettlach art nouveau stein with a transfer print miner’s scene and text, “Glück Auf!” (Good luck!) and “Verkündet es mit lautem Schall, glück auf ihr Knappen all.”(Proclaim it with a loud sound, good luck you miners all). Impressed 1909 to the underside.

- minor decoration loss to the Mettlach stein.
