German Stoneware Steins including Albert Thewalt
Item Details
A grouping of two early 20th-century German stoneware steins. Albert Thewalt half liter stein, #469, with a hand painted figural scene and text that reads, ‘Des Lebens Sonnenschein ist trinken, fröhlichsein (Drink and be merry for that’s the joy of life).’ A German stein with impressed #1935 to the underside and a hand decorated print under glaze landscape scene. Both appear with pewter lids.
Condition
-crazing throughout the interior of both; light signs of use and wear.
