A charcoal drawing on paper of a seated nude female figure by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997), created in 1984. This work features a profile view of a young nude woman seated in a chair with her left leg casually propped upward. The work is signed and dated to the lower left. The composition is presented under glass, double-matted with light beige and dark blue matting, and housed in a pewter-tone wood frame. The work is accompanied by a brochure on the artist from Cincinnati Art Galleries, LLC.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
