Antique American Renaissance Revival Writing Table

Item Details

An antique American Renaissance Revival writing table. This 19th century walnut writing table has a rectangular top with rounded ends and molded edges above a wide apron fitted on one side with a drawer. The drawer front features a pine secondary wood, hand-dovetail joints, and a raised panel with a carved escutcheon in the center. The piece rests on four turned and fluted tapered legs that pass through the apron to directly support the top and connect to ornate decorative H-stretchers with round and square turnings with applied roundels. The legs terminate on ring turned feet on white porcelain castors. No apparent maker’s mark.
