A hand-knotted Persian Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, powder blue, indigo, ivory, rose, emerald, and ochre. The field features a large hexagonal pendant medallion in a cranberry lozenge along set in an indigo field, all infilled with a mina khani pattern. Framing the ornate field is a main samovar patterned border along with guard borders of repeated medallions, carnation meanders, and laleh abbasi. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
